Representation matters: Sierra Leonean women in power

Sierra Leone has made strides on parameters of gender equality such as access to education. However, “full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision making in political, economic and public life” is one of the objectives expressed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5.5) and now in draft in legislation. But as indicated below, there is considerable ground to cover.
